This review really struck a nerve with me. Having raised two sons, everything in this review helped me understand the interaction between father and son. For me, it was a revelation in retrospect of how they reacted toward one another through the years and why. <br /><br />Fortunately, my sons never got into too much trouble as the character in the story did but they did leave home by the time they were eighteen, one for the military and the other for the west coast. Their father always told them from the time they were young that when they were eighteen they were out of the nest, perhaps a self full-filling prophecy. Who knows, maybe their father was right since they both turned out just fine.<br /><br />I praise you for your insightful psychological review of this novel underneath the outer layer of a crime drama and plan to read it. Also, I will recommend it based on your review to my sons, their father and anyone else I know with sons in the family.<br /><br />And by the way, both my sons tell their father they love him now whenever they call home...:&gt; <br /><br />Thank you!Cecilia H.noreply@blogger.com
