Orson has been in San Diego quite a bit recently, first for Comic-Con, and more recently for a Writer's Bootcamp that he's been leading. The other night, he made an appearance at Mysterious Galaxy bookstore in San Diego, and covered a wide range of topics during a lengthy question and answers session.
The session started with the status of the "Ender's Game" movie and other Orson Scott Card book-related movie projects. (He is in the process currently of writing a treatment for the "Ender's Game" movie.) He talked about writing comic books for Marvel and how it was unlikely that he would do it again now that he has finished his run. He also shared some comic-related news concerning his books.
Of course knowing his outspoken reputation, individuals asked him questions about the current presidential campaign and various social issues. Orson didn't shy away, and it is intriguing that he speaks his mind and stands by his convictions whether you agree with him or not. He seems to enjoy being a polarizing figure.
Anyway, he was gracious enough to sign about eight books for me. (The man signs fast!) So without further ado, here is one of Orson's autographs.
