James Patrick Kelly had a reading and signing tonight in San Diego at Mysterious Galaxy bookstore. (A big shout-out to MG for holding another great event!)
James is out in San Diego for the week teaching at the Clarion workshop on the campus of University of California at San Diego. Since he has been to California rarely in the past, it was a huge treat seeing him. He performed his short story, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and it was one of the best readings I've been to. Very engaging and audience friendly.
Then during the question and answer session, he regaled the group with a hilarious story about his Nebula acceptance speech. Overall, it was a fun and entertaining night.
I was able to get signed a few collections that his stories appeared in while I was there. So behold the fruits of my labour.
