"Black Man" wins Arthur C. Clarke Award

Thursday, May 1, 2008

Richard K. Morgan's "Black Man" (retitled "Thirteen" in the U.S.) has won this year's Arthur C. Clarke Award. The award is given to the best science fiction novel published in the U.K. in the previous year.

It is nice to see Morgan get the recognition that he deserves. He truly is writing some of the best science fiction out there currently, and I am sure there is much more goodness to come. This just brings me to a greater level of anticipation for his new fantasy novel, "The Steel Remains", which is slated for release in Britain later this year.

So if you haven't had a chance to read Black Man/Thirteen, now is the time to go check it out!
